“Pixar in a Box: The Math Behind the Movies.”

Dr. Tony DeRose gave students and the community a fascinating look at how mathematics helps bring animated films to life. His talk inspired many of our mathematics majors to consider new possibilities in animation and computer graphics.

Po-Shen Loh is a social entrepreneur and inventor working across mathematics, education, and healthcare. He is a math professor at Carnegie Mellon University and the national coach of the USA International Mathematical Olympiad team.
