Voluntary Retirement/Resignation Incentive Program

As part of FGCU’s ongoing commitment to long-term workforce planning, organizational effectiveness and financial sustainability, we are pleased to announce a Voluntary Retirement/Resignation Incentive Program for eligible faculty and staff.

This new employee benefit reflects broader, evolving trends in workforce planning and employee career management across organizations nationwide.

The launch of this program is an extension of the benefits already available to employees and is an opportunity for employees who may already be considering retirement or separation from the university to voluntarily transition from employment. It also supports FGCU’s strategic goals and future operational needs.

Participation in this program is voluntary. Eligible employees who are approved for participation will receive a separation incentive in exchange for:

  • An irrevocable retirement or resignation from FGCU
  • Execution of a General Release Agreement

Employees interested in applying for the Program must:

The Application will be available from September 8, 2026 through October 9, 2026 (ending at 5:00 PM).

For a full description of eligibility requirements and benefits, see the Voluntary Retirement/Resignation Incentive Program and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) documents. Questions not addressed in the FAQs should be directed to voluntary-incentive@fgcu.edu
